Prince – Let’s Work b/w Gotta Stop (Messin’ About)

Prince – Let’s Work
1982 Warner Bros. Records – DWBS 50028
Vinyl, 12″, Single, SRC Pressing

A good portion of the world is celebrating a holiday today:  the day that His Purple Majesty passed on into the Afterworld, leaving us on our own, three years ago.  Hence, this is technically a sombre holiday post.  I spent an unconscionable amount of time trying to unscrew the horrible update to WordPress (called Gutenberg), realized there’s a plugin for it, and now I have no time left to say anything of much substance.  The dance mix of “Let’s Work” is off the chain on this gem of a 12″ single, and the non-album track “Gotta Stop (Messin’ About)” was released in the UK but failed to chart.  If it had been released as a single in the US, do you think he would have titled it “Gotta Stop Messin’ AROUND”?  I think he would have.  Nobody says “messing about” west of the Greenwich meridian.  Hey, now that I’ve rolled back to ‘classic’ WP, maybe you’ll be hearing from me more often?
